North American Society for the Study of Romanticism (NASSR)

The North American Society for the Study of Romanticism was founded in 1991 at The University of Western Ontario. NASSR was established as a forum for the discussion of a wide variety of theoretical approaches to Romantic works of all genres and disciplines and of subjects relevant to the international and interdisciplinary study of Romanticism.

 

Japan Association of English Romanticism (JAER)

Association with a focus on English Romantic literature. JAER organises an annual conference.

 

Romantic Studies Association of Australasia (RSAA)

The Romantic Studies Association of Australasia (RSAA) was founded at the University of Sydney in 2010 to promote the study of the literary, artistic, political, and scientific culture of the 'long' Romantic period (c. 1750-1850) throughout universities, secondary schools, and the general community in Australia and New Zealand.

RSAA is hosting a biennial conference and occasional public lectures, readings, colloquia, and workshops. RSAA provides a forum for the discussion of British, European, American, and colonial culture of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, and invites a wide variety of theoretical approaches to Romantic cultural and intellectual works in all genres and disciplines, including literature and print culture, history, the pictorial arts, music, theatre, religion, philosophy, science, and political economy.

 

The British Association for Romantic Studies (BARS)

The British Association for Romantic Studies (BARS) is the UK's leading national organization for promoting the study of Romanticism. The BARS Review provides timely and comprehensive coverage of new monographs, essay collections, editions and other works dealing with the literature, history and culture of the Romantic period, broadly conceived. German Society for English Romanticism


In spite of its name, the German Society for English Romanticism (GER) is dedicated to and supports research not only into all aspects of British Romanticism, but into European and American varieties of Romanticism as well. Theoretically aware, it has increasingly become a forum for researchers working on the interfaces of literature, philosophy, art history, and cultural studies, though its main focus remains on literature, broadly defined.

 

Societé des études romantiques et dix-neuviémistes (SERD)

La Société des études romantiques et dix-neuviémistes (SERD) est une association (loi 1901) qui a pour objet de fédérer les différentes activités qui s'intéressent au XIXe siècle. Elle se veut résolument transdisciplinaire, réunissant littéraires, linguistes, historiens, historiens de l'art, musicologues, philosophes ou autres. Son but est de faire connaître et de diffuser la recherche dans ces différents domaines.
